Keyboard shortcuts
Assign your own combination to each function: e.g. for instant text cleanup. Standard shortcuts exist too — you don’t have to change them.
How it works
You don’t need to be a developer to launch UzType. The whole process takes a few minutes.
The program is built for Windows and works at system level — no per-application setup needed. Install once, forget about it: it does its job in the background.
Download the Windows installer from the official site (about 40 MB) and run it. The setup wizard configures everything in a minute: the program joins startup, but you can disable that. No admin rights needed — any user can install it. The installer carries no extra bundle: just the program, no foreign panels or services.
The program icon appears in the taskbar. Click it and choose one of two modes: Fast — auto-corrects every apostrophe letter, suits most people; Hybrid — only steps in for clear-cut cases, e.g. when working in a code editor. Switch modes in one click anytime. You can also set a default mode per application — e.g. Fast in a text editor, Hybrid in a code editor.
Whether you write a report in Word, an email in the browser or a message in Telegram — it makes no difference. Type with an apostrophe and the correct form appears on screen. No extra buttons to press. Your keyboard layout doesn’t change: English (US) stays put.
Have documents written earlier? Select the text and press the UzType button (or a hotkey). The program finds every wrong apostrophe and fixes it, converting Latin-Cyrillic when needed. Large documents are ready in seconds. For large texts a preview window appears before the process: see what will change, then confirm.
An undemanding program — runs smoothly on most computers:
macOS and Linux versions are on the roadmap — join the waitlist and we’ll notify you first.
The program works on an install-and-forget principle — but if you want, every detail can be tuned to your liking:
Assign your own combination to each function: e.g. for instant text cleanup. Standard shortcuts exist too — you don’t have to change them.
Some programs don’t need auto-correction: games, special editors. Add them to the list — UzType will stay silent there or switch to Hybrid mode.
Names, terms, abbreviations — add words the program doesn’t know to the dictionary. Next time it will treat them as correct and leave them alone.
Any system-level program draws antivirus attention. UzType ships with a digital signature — the publisher name is verified, the file’s integrity confirmed.
Want to write correctly in game chat too? Fast mode works in games — but if you want, you can set a separate rule for games so the program doesn’t interfere there.
Settings and dictionary are stored as plain files — copy them to another computer. Cloud sync will arrive in later versions.
Many office computers restrict software installation. UzType installs without admin rights — so special IT permission is usually not needed. If in doubt, check with your IT specialist first.
